Hello, Renewal Family!
This week, as we continue our journey through the Foundations of Faith, we will immerse ourselves in a topic that's at the very heart of our Christian walk: Grace. Our guiding scripture is Ephesians 2:8-9, which beautifully encapsulates the essence of grace: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."
Grace is the unmerited favor of God; it's a gift, not a reward. This passage reminds us that our salvation is not something we can achieve through our own efforts. It's a gift given freely by God out of His immense love for us. What a relief and a joy to know that we don’t have to earn our way to God’s heart!
But grace doesn't stop there. It's not just a one-time gift received at salvation; it's an ongoing, transformative force in our lives. Think of it as a multifaceted jewel shining in our daily walk with God.
As we prepare our hearts for Sunday, let's dwell on these questions:
1. Can you recall a specific moment when you distinctly felt God's grace in your life? How did it change your perspective or actions?
2. Reflect on a time when you extended grace to someone else. What motivated you, and how did it impact your relationship?
3. Are there areas in your life where accepting or offering grace feels challenging? What are these barriers, and how might you overcome them?
4. How can we, as a church community, actively demonstrate God's grace in our interactions both within and beyond our church walls?
5. What are you hoping to learn or understand better about the different aspects of grace during Pastor Adam's sermon this Sunday?
Let's make this week a celebration of God's boundless grace. We look forward to exploring this theme further with you on Sunday at 2pm. Until then, may God's grace be ever-present in your lives.
With love and grace,
Pastor Adam
